What Is HELB Batch Number?
A Helb batch number refers to a set of 4-digit serial numbers assigned to Helb beneficiaries who have been allocated funds towards tuition/upkeep fees.
This number is often utilized when making disbursements which is generally done in batches using set criteria implemented by HELB.
How To Get HELB Batch Number
The batch number is usually automatically generated alongside the allocated funds during the allocation phase of the Helb loan disbursement stages.
However, there are instances whereby allocated funds have missing batch numbers thereby delaying the disbursement process resulting in inconveniences especially when semesters are in session or exams are due.
How To Check HELB Batch Number
Since allocated funds cannot be disbursed without batch numbers, it is usually advisable to know your assigned batch number since it is useful in tracking Helb’s disbursement progress.
Currently, there are three (3) methods of checking your Helb batch number online as outlined below;
1. Loanee Self-Serve Portal
- Navigate to the Helb Loanee Self-Serve Portal
- Login/Register (If you do not have an account)
- Tap ‘My Loans’ on the Helb menu
- Select your preferred academic year and click ‘View Details’
- Your application details for the selected academic year will be displayed which includes your batch number
2. USSD Code *642# – SMS Charged
- Dial *642#
- Login/register (If unregistered)
- Select ‘Loan Disbursement’
- Select your preferred academic year
- You will receive an SMS notification from HELB with your loan details including your batch number.
3. USSD Code *334# – SMS Free
- Dial *334#
- Select ‘Lipa Na M-PESA’
- Select ‘Government Services’
- Select ‘HELB’
- Select ‘Login’
- Enter your PIN
- Select ‘Loan Disbursement’
- Select your preferred academic year
- You will receive an SMS notification from HELB with your loan details including your batch number.
How To Track Payment Status Of Your Batch Number

The data used in this tracker is sourced from Helb’s official channels as well as individual students assigned the various batch numbers.
Note: If you do not see your batch number within the tracker, please use the comments section to inquire on its status.Â
