Kenya Power is the sole company mandated to provide electricity nationwide. It does so through the use of systems configured to bill its consumers either via prepaid or postpaid.
Prepaid systems require consumers to pay first ( through token purchase) before accessing the electricity while PostPaid systems enable consumers to pay after utilizing the service.
Though the adoption of one over the other is quite relative, majority of Kenyans use token meters to power their households.
Such meters are fed token codes purchased via either MPESA or through vendors. Such tokens contain a 20-digit code that is fed into the token meter to reload your account.
However, misfortunes may happen like inputting a wrong account number when purchasing tokens, misplacing the physical token or accidentally deleting the SMS message containing the token codes.
If this happens, do not get worried as you can still access the token codes via this simple process.
Download this app from the Playstore, install and launch it.
Click on My Bill/My Token tab which will direct you to the page whereby you will be required to input your Account Reference or Meter Number.
Choose meter number and input your meter number then click on the search icon.
You will receive details of your last token recharge including, purchase amount and units disbursed as shown below.

I’ve purchased tokens via mpesa but after feeding the digits electricity is not coming back

I realized it only gives you the last token. What if you have topped up twice and the first one is the one missing, can you retrieve the previous?
