Airtel money is a mobile money transfer similar to Mpesa but is offered by the Airtel network service provider.
Registration for the service is usually free and involves a trip to any Airtel money agent or shop nationwide and filling in a registration form after submitting either your national ID, passport, military or Alien ID.
Upon successful registration, you will receive a confirmation SMS regarding the same whereby you will be required to dial *222# to set your Pin and then you will be good to go.
Unlike its competitor (Mpesa) Airtel money has not been widely adopted in Kenya as a mode of payment and as such, many services are not available through its platform.
If you are an Airtel subscriber and you need to repay your helb loan, you will be required to do so using either of the payment options below.
- Mpesa
- Lipa Na Bonga points
- Employer check-off
- Bank transfer
