Cytonn Money Market Registration

KYC Requirements

Individual/Joint

1. Copy of identification documents i.e national ID/ Passport
2. Copy of PIN (TAX) certificate
3. Copy of bank statement (not more than 3 months old) or an original cancelled cheque or a certified confirming bank account details
4. (Optional) Provide proof of source of funds
5. Copy of utility bill (not more than 3 months old) or a proof of address letter

Corporate

1. (Optional) Provide proof source of funds
2. Copy of certificate of incorporation or partnership agreement or constitution or any other founding document
3. Document demonstrating that the entity and/or its officers are authorized to invest in the LLP
4. Copy of PIN (TAX) certificate or a copy of tax exemption certificate where applicable
5. Copy of bank statement (not more than 3 months old) or an original cancelled cheque or a certified letter confirming bank account details
6. Copy of ID or Passport for the authorized representatives

Registration Options

Registration to the CMMF is very easy whereby it can be done both offline via registration form or through online forms

USSD Code

1) Dial *809#
2) Select option 1: Create Account
3) Choose option 1: Money Market Fund
4) Choose option 1: Own CMMF Account
5) Enter your full names in the format First/Middle/Last names
6) Enter your ID No./Passport No.
7) Enter your source of funds
8) (Optional) Enter your email address
9) (Optional) Enter referral code
10) Select option 1: Confirm your details OR Option 2: Change details

Mobile App

1. Download the Cytonn app
2. Click on ‘Open a CMMF Account’
3. Proceed to create your account in 5 easy steps by entering your personal details, create a password, enter account details, select mode of investment and setting up transaction PIN

Online Service Portal

1. Navigate to the Cytonn online portal
2. Complete the five (5) required sections which include;
i) Investment details
ii) Risk assessment
iii) Subscriber details such as personal information, employment details, source of funds, financial advisor/referrer, next of kin and banking information
iv) Upload KYC documents
v) Make initial deposit investment amount

Application Forms

The Cytonn joining forms for both Individual/Joint/Corporate membership can be downloaded, filled and sent via email with the necessary KYC documents attached.

Cytonn Money Market Deposit/Top-up Options

Cytonn MMF currently offers five (5) options for depositing funds or top-up to one’s money market account and they include; M-Pesa, bank transfer, USSD code, mobile app and online service portal.

M-Pesa Paybill

Bank Transfer

USSD Code

1. Dial *809#.
2. Select Create Account.
3. Enter your full names.
4. Enter your ID number or Passport number.
5. Enter the source of funds.
6. Enter your email address (optional).
7. Enter FA Referral Code (optional).
8. Choose the product to invest in (CMMF).
9. Enter the amount to invest.
10. Choose the payment method (Bank or M-PESA).
11. Confirm your Details

You will then receive an SMS acknowledging account creation, the account temporary PIN, your client code and link to Terms and Conditions

Mobile App

1. Download the Cytonn mobile app ( Android / iOS )
2. Enter the amount to invest.
3. Accept terms and conditions.
4. Enter the application details.
5. Enter token sent to your phone number.
6. Choose the payment method (Bank or M-PESA)

Online Service Portal

1. Visit https://clients.cytonn.com/apply/investment
2. Fill in the online application form.
3. Enter token sent to your phone number.
4. Deposit as little as Ksh100 using your Bank account or M-PESA.
5. Click on Submit and Complete the Application.

NB. You will then receive an SMS acknowledging account creation and an activation link sent to your email that expires in 24 hours.

Cytonn Money Market Withdrawal Options

By default, Cytonn MMF withdrawal duration vary depending on the amount of funds whereby amounts below Ksh3oo,ooo take approximately 24hrs upon receipt of the request while amounts above Ksh3oo,ooo take averagely 2-4 working days before receiving your funds.

1st time withdrawals are usually free while subsequent withdrawals are charged. Below are the available methods with which one can withdraw funds.

USSD Code

1. Dial *809#.
2. Enter your PIN.
3. Select Option 1: Transact.
4. Then Option 2: Withdraw.
5. Choose the product to withdraw from (CMMF).
6. Choose where you would like us to send the money:
• Option 1. M-PESA
• Option 2. BANK
7. Select the account to send the funds to (details on record will be displayed).
8. Input the amount you would like to withdraw.
9. Confirm details.

Mobile App

1. Download and login to the Cytonn app ( Android / iOS )
2. Click on your CMMF investment.
3. Click “Sell Units”.
4. Enter the number of units to withdraw.
5. Select Bank account/M-PESA number to send funds to.
6. Confirm details.
7. Enter token sent via SMS/Email/Authy.

Online Service Portal

1. Visit https://clients.cytonn.com/
2. Once Logged in, click on view fund (CMMF).
3. Click “Sell Units”.
4. Select product to withdraw from.
5. Select the account to send the funds to (details on record will be displayed).
6. Enter the number of units you would like to withdraw.
7. Confirm sell unit details.
8. Enter token sent via SMS/Email/Authy.

Cytonn Money Market View Statement Options

Cytonn MMF statements are usually sent out monthly via email to the email address indicated during registration. In the absence of an email address, there is the option of post office whereby Cytonn will mail a copy to your postal address at your expense.

Other methods to view statements include via mobile app and online service portal as per below procedures.

Mobile App

1. Login to the Cytonn mobile app ( Android / iOS )
2. Under the Quick actions menu, click on ‘View Statements’
3. Select Cytonn CMMF product
4. Enter your preferred start & end date
5. Click ‘Get Statements in PDF’

Online Service Portal

1. Login to the Cytonn online service portal
2. On the sidebar menu, click on ‘My Statements’
3. Select CMMF product
4. Select the start date & end date for the statement period
5. Choose to download as either excel/PDF
