Obtaining a Kenyan passport entails various processes ranging from the E-Citizen application which entails making payments and booking appointment for biometrics capture upon which you will be provided with a passport tracking number that will be used for tracking the passport for collection.
Once a passport is ready, you will be notified via SMS and provided with a link to proceed and book for collection. Through this link you will be able to select your preferred collection point, booking and collection date.
To do this, you are required to fill in your KYC information which entails your full names, ID number, email address as well as phone number.
Other section includes the delivery office, payment amount and collection date as shown below.
In the event that your preferred collection point is unavailable on the provided list, send an email to passport@posta.co.ke stating your convenient collection point for assistance.
Depending on the collection point chosen point above, the payment amount will vary depending on distance.
To make payment, you will have to choose between the two payment options available which are M-Pesa direct deposit or M-Pesa Paybill and use the EXACT Paybill number and Account number provided.
Upon successful booking and payment, you will receive a confirmation SMS detailing the date, time and collection point as per below sample SMS.
When collecting the passport, you should ensure that you carry your original ID and E-Citizen printout. For minors, an original birth certificate is required in addition to the guardian’s ID.
