4 Simple Ways To Know Your NHIF Number In 2023

Upon successful registration to NHIF, a member is usually issued with NHIF membership card with the applicant’s details such as membership number, ID card, name, year of birth, gender etc

However, the NHIF card is currently obsolete and has been replaced by the bio-metrics systems. Below are some of the different ways to check your NHIF number online.

1. How To Know NHIF Number Via SMS

Send the text ID ********* whereby *** is your ID number. For example ID 98765432 to 1550

A reply SMS will be sent to your phone number bearing your NHIF membership details including your membership number

2. How To Know NHIF Number Via USSD

Dial *155# and choose your language setup between Swahili and English by selecting option 2 or 1 respectively

Choose option 1 for National health scheme

Enter your national ID number

An OTP will be sent via SMS to your number. Enter the OTP and select option 1 to verify PIN

3. How To Know NHIF Number Via My NHIF App

Download, install and launch the MyNHIF app [ Appstore / Playstore ]

Select the ‘Other services’ tab

Proceed to input your national ID number and tap ‘Request OTP’

Input the code sent via SMS and tap on ‘Log In’ to gain access to the app’s dashboard

Tap on ‘My Profile’ for your NHIF number to be displayed.

4. How To Know NHIF Number Via NHIF Portal

Go to the online NHIF Selfcare portal

Enter your national ID number and click ‘Continue’

Enter the OTP sent via SMS and tap ‘Verify’ to access your dashboard

Under the facilities menu, your NHIF member data summary will be displayed including your membership number
