Faraja credit is a Buy Now, Pay Later product financing option offered by Safaricom in partnership with Equity Bank for the provision of credit to consumers allowing them to make in-store purchases at the point-of-sale at select merchant stores countrywide.

The service is similar to other BNPL options such as Flexpay, Aspira, LipaLater, Lipa MosMos, RentScore, Lipa MdogoMdogo, ImaliPay, Sevi etc

How To Qualify For Faraja Credit

Faraja credit eligibility requires that an applicant;

– Be at least 18 years of age
– Possess an active Safaricom line
– Have an active M-Pesa subscription for at least 6 months

How To Register & Apply For Faraja Credit

Select option 1 for ‘Opt-In’

Select option 1 to agree to the service’s Terms and Conditions

Proceed to enter your M-Pesa PIN

You will then receive a confirmation message bearing your credit limit.

In the event that a credit limit is not allocated, increase the frequency usage of the Faraja service so as to build a transaction history that may ultimately boost the credit score thereby qualifying for a credit limit.

Faraja Credit Limit Amount, Interest Rate And Repayment Duration

Faraja offers a minimum credit limit of Ksh20 up-to a capped amount of Ksh100,000 whereby individual credit limit increases are appraised through continuous use of the Faraja service as well as timely repayments of the same.

Faraja does not require any deposit and incurs 0% interest rate with its repayment duration set at 30 days.
