For those who are not yet familiar with Safaricom’s Fuliza service, it is basically an overdraft service whereby one can access additional funds in case their primary MPesa account is nil balance.
However, the downside of this service is that despite the ability to use it in the payment of various expenses via the ‘Lipa Na MPesa’ and ‘Buy Goods’ options available in the Safaricom SIM toolkit, one cannot withdraw said overdrawn amount.
In this article, we will show you how you can easily access and withdraw said fuliza funds through a different network operator for ‘off-network’ expenses.
First, you need to know how much your limit balance is. This can be done by dialling *234*0*2#
Once you know your balance, you can fuliza any pre-determined amount to a Telkom number ( ensure to factor-in the Mpesa transaction costs if your plan is to drain the entire fuliza account balance )
Below is an example whereby Ksh 3,000 was ‘fulizad’ from Safaricom and later received by Telkom.
Note that inorder to withdraw the funds, you need to go to an MPesa agent and provide the 4-digit code within 7 days so as to access the cash. Failure to do so, the funds will be reversed to the original sender.
Moreover, there are absolutely ZERO withdrawal charges!
