TRUSTEE
A trustee has to be either a bank or financial institution. The trustee has to ensure that the custodian takes into custody all the CIS assets, and ensure it is well managed by the fund manager as per agreement of service.

The custodian must either be a bank or a financial institution and has to be approved by Capital Markets Authority ( CMA ) to hold in custody funds, securities, financial instruments or documents of title to assets registered in the name of local investors, East African investors, or foreign investors or of an investment portfolio.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Individuals / Joint
- Copy of ID or Passport
- Copy of PIN (TAX) certificate
- Copy of tax exemption certificate (where applicable)
- Passport picture
- Proof of banking details- RTGS, EFT or any other electronic funds transfer instructions document containing your bank details/ Cheque/ Bank Statement (not more than 3 months old) or certified letter confirming bank account details.
2. Corporate
– Founding Documents:
- Companies – Certificate of Incorporation or
- Partnership – Partnership Agreement or
- Other legal entities – Constitution or other founding documents
– Other Documents:
- Resolution mandate authorizing the investment by the entity,officers authorized to transact on behalf of the entity and their signing mandate.
- Companies – Certificate of Incorporation or
- Copy of PIN (TAX) certificate
- Copy of tax exemption certificate (where applicable)
– Documents from Authorized Representative:
- Copy of ID or Passport
– Proof of banking details shall be any of the following:
