Ecitizen is an all-in-one government portal whereby citizens can access/apply for various government services like ePassport applications, business registration, police clearance certificate application, driving license application, KRA payments etc

However, you need an ecitizen account in-order to access such services. Therefore, to create a Kenyan Ecitizen account, you will be required to submit your ID number, 1st name as per ID, email address, mobile number as well as create a password for future logins.

Nonetheless, there are circumstances where one may not remember his/her own password.

If you happen to encounter such, do not worry. Just follow the below steps to reset your ecitizen account.

1. Navigate to the ecitizen website and click on Sign in whereby you will be directed to the login page.

2. Click on Forgot your password and enter either your ID number or email address then click on Reset My Password.

3. On the next page, you will be required to select a password reset method either to do so via mobile number or via email address.

If you choose to:

  • Reset ecitizen password via mobile number

You will be notified that a text containing your confirmation code has been sent to your registered phone number.

Copy and enter the 6-digit confirmation code sent via SMS and click Continue to proceed to the next page whereby you will be required to enter and confirm a new password then click Reset My Password.

You will then receive a notification stating that your password has been changed successfully.

  • Reset ecitizen password via email address

You will be notified that an email containing your confirmation code has been sent to your registered email address.

Copy and enter the 6-digit confirmation code received via email and click Continue to proceed to the next page whereby you will be required to enter and confirm a new password then click Reset My Password.

You will then receive a notification stating that your password has been changed successfully.
