Microfinance banks are a section of the financial institutions regulated and governed by the Central Bank Of Kenya.
However, they should not be mistaken with commercial banks since they largely tend to cater to small scale businesses unlike commercial banks.
Currently, there are 13 licensed microfinance banks in Kenya which undertake various functions such as deposit-taking as well as offer credit.
In support of the said functions, these banks have adopted digital systems like USSD codes, apps and Paybill numbers to enhance service delivery.
Below, we look at some of the USSD codes, Paybill numbers and apps offered by microfinance banks in Kenya.
