NHIF payments can be made via various channels including M-Pesa and EFT bank transfer depending on the membership category i.e employed or self employed

For those in employment, NHIF deduction amounts are dependent on one’s salary while for the self-employed, the NHIF contributions are set at Kes500 per month

NHIF payments are required to be made before the 9th of each month, failure to which will incur penalties.

1. How To Make NHIF Payments As An Employer

Employers can remit contributions through official channels such as;

– Kenya Commercial Bank
– Co-operative bank
– Equity bank
– National bank
– M-Pesa Paybill

To make NHIF payments via KCB, simply use the below account details;

Self employed members can make contributions via the M-Pesa details below;

Note: NHIF payments made via M-Pesa typically take 2-3 days to reflect

Can One Pay NHIF for the whole year?

NHIF contributions for the self-employed is usually Kes500 per month.

However, it is possible to make a lump sum NHIF payment for a whole year simply by entering the amount Kes6,000 which is obtained by multiplying the monthly amount by 12 months i.e 500*12= 6,000

If paying for more than a year, the payments should be in multiples of Kes6,000

If NHIF payments for 2 years, make 2 separate payments of Kes6,000
If NHIF payments for 3 years, make 3 separate payments of Kes6,000
If NHIF payments for 4 years, make 4 separate payments of Kes6,000
